Gaming Mouse Sensitivity Converter (eDPI)
Convert mouse sensitivity between FPS games (Valorant, CS2, Apex, Overwatch). Calculate eDPI and equivalent in-game sensitivity.
What this calculates
Different FPS games scale mouse sensitivity differently — your Valorant feel doesn't translate to CS2 or Apex. eDPI (effective DPI = mouse DPI × in-game sens) is the standard cross-game number. This converter calculates your eDPI and translates a setting from one game into the equivalent in another so muscle memory carries over.
Formula & how it works
eDPI = mouse_DPI × in_game_sensitivity. To convert between games: target_sens = source_sens × (source_yaw ÷ target_yaw), where yaw is the in-game angle-per-count multiplier. Common yaws: Valorant 0.07, CS2 0.022 (default), Apex 0.022, Overwatch 0.0066 sensitivity = 0.022 × that multiplier. Conversions get messy — use a known reference like cm/360 instead for portability.
Worked example
Valorant sens 0.4 at 800 DPI → eDPI = 320. Convert to CS2: 0.4 × (0.07 / 0.022) = 1.27. Same physical hand movement. CS2 pros average 800 DPI × 1.0-2.5 sens = 800-2000 eDPI. Valorant pros: 200-400 eDPI (smaller, more precise). Apex pros: 400-1200 eDPI.
Frequently asked questions
What's cm/360?
Centimeters of mouse movement needed for a full 360° in-game turn. More portable than eDPI — works across games once you measure once. Casual: 30-50 cm. Competitive: 15-30 cm. Pro tac shooter: 30-50 cm.
Why does sens feel different between games?
Different FOV, different sensitivity curves, different acceleration handling. Two games with same eDPI can feel very different. Convert via cm/360 if portability matters.
Should I copy a pro's sens?
Use it as a starting point, but most pros built their sens around their hand size and grip. A 6'3" claw-grip player and a 5'8" palm-grip player benefit from different settings even with similar styles.
Best for aim improvement?
Pick a sens and stick with it for 4+ weeks. Adjust by tiny amounts (10 % steps) only. Constant changes prevent muscle memory. Aim trainers (Aim Lab, Kovaak) work best with stable sens.
